Description
What every online shop needs (mandatory since 19 June 2026)
Directive (EU) 2023/2673 added Article 11a to the Consumer Rights Directive. When consumers conclude contracts through your website, you must provide a withdrawal function:
- a button labelled “withdraw from contract here” (or an unambiguous equivalent), available throughout the withdrawal period, prominently displayed and easy to access,
- an online statement in which the consumer provides or confirms name, order details and the e-mail address for the confirmation,
- submission with a button labelled “confirm withdrawal”,
- an acknowledgement of receipt on a durable medium with the content of the statement and the date and time of its submission, without undue delay.
The module implements exactly this flow in PrestaShop, without modifying core files.
How it works
- “Withdraw from contract here” button - in order details, order history, My account, the shop footer (for everyone, including guests) and the order confirmation e-mail.
- Withdrawal statement - name and e-mail are pre-filled and can be corrected. The customer selects products and quantities (partial withdrawal) or the whole order. Reason and message are optional - a reason is never required.
- “Confirm withdrawal” button - the statement is stored with date, time, IP address and browser.
- Acknowledgement of receipt - an immediate e-mail to the customer with the full statement, date and time (with timezone). The shop receives a copy.
Guests find their order with the order reference and e-mail address; the link in the order confirmation e-mail opens the statement directly.
Back office
- List of statements with filters (order, e-mail, status, dates) and whether the acknowledgement was sent.
- Details: content, products and quantities, IP, browser, link to the order.
- Statuses (submitted, in progress, accepted, rejected, closed) with an e-mail to the customer in their language and an optional note.
- CSV export (Excel, ERP) protected against spreadsheet formulas.
- Back office available in English and Polish.
Settings
- Button labels per language - the official wording of the directive by default (EN, DE, FR, ES, IT, PL).
- Period counted from delivery (“Delivered” status) or from the order date; after the period a warning or a block.
- One statement per order or several partial statements.
- Footer link, link in the order confirmation e-mail (in the order language), text above the form (e.g. return address).
- Statements stay in the database after uninstalling - evidence in case of a dispute (deletion only if you enable it).
Security
- Signed order links (HMAC) and a rate limit on the guest order lookup.
- Customer input is sanitised and escaped, also in the e-mails to the shop.
- Tested on clean PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8 and 9 installations and on the upgrade from 1.x.

Frequently asked questions
Does the module make my shop fully compliant?
It implements the withdrawal function of Article 11a exactly as worded in the directive. Your terms, withdrawal information and refund process remain your (or your lawyer’s) responsibility, as do national transposition rules. The module is not legal advice.
Does it work for guests?
Yes - footer link, link in the order confirmation e-mail and lookup by order reference and e-mail.
Can customers withdraw from part of an order?
Yes, they select products and quantities; later statements only cover what is left.
Which languages are included?
Storefront texts, button labels and all e-mails in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish. Other languages can be translated in PrestaShop.
Your shop still has no withdrawal function? Add the module to the cart and download it right after payment. Questions: [email protected].
